about our studio

Established in 2021, SISU is a boutique Reformer Pilates and Movement Studio in the heart of Pukekohe, Auckland.

SISU was born out of a passion for delivering dynamic movement classes and a need for a beautiful boutique studio in the Franklin area. Our classes are designed to challenge your body and your mind, along with improving strength, fitness and your ability to push past your limits.

We are an inclusive community that values everyone that steps through our doors. Our classes are kept small so we can get to know you and how you move so we can connect and empower you to explore movement in a way that feels good for your body. We celebrate every body at every ability, because we want you to know that you are so much more than what you look like.

We are committed to supporting our local Franklin community and love seeing our neighbours in small business succeed, so we support local where we can. We also feel strongly about protecting our environment, aiming to eliminate waste and use natural products wherever possible.

A movement enthusiast since way back, Abby was always determined to find a career that combined her passion for fitness, teaching and getting others moving. Trying every type of fitness fad she could lay her hands on, she instantly found her groove on the Reformer. She began teaching locally in the South Auckland area, but quickly realised that Pukekohe was lacking exactly what she wanted to create, and there the idea of SISU was born.

Abby’s approach to teaching is very much shaped by what she learnt during her Pilates training with Breathe Education – making shapes, having fun and promoting fearless movement. She is passionate about continuous learning and upskilling, as well as keeping up to date with and applying the latest research in exercise science and biomechanics which is an ever evolving field.

Expect a lot of spice and a lot of laughs in Abby’s classes. She encourages you to connect with your body, explore your capabilities and challenge your limits.
